This here is Ms. Darla
Von Mufflebuns, a character inspired by a lady I know.

She is the subject of a short comic I am working on with Cloudscape Comics.  Her oven has special capabilities!
A simple self-portrait, and a reminder to chew your dumplings slowly!
Here is a portrait of Mother Jones, b. 1830 (or was it ’37?) , d. 1930.  She was one tough lady, known as the “Miner’s Angel”, and fought to end child labour in the USA.  She also kicked an intruder in the head (& killed him!) when she was 83 years old.

Here’s one (above) I made while listening to this song on Vancouver Co-op Radio, the morning after I gambled in a casino for the first time.  My sweetheart Mark Vaughan hosts “In the Pines” - the bluegrass show - every third Sunday.

Well, this was one of those mornings... From the expression - a shot of liquor the terrible morning after a drinking binge - “a hair of the dog that bit ya!”  Yuck!
For the bad tummy times...

This is called “Hello Old Friend”.
My pal Maia Iotsova is working on a wonderful experimental documentary called “Green Dream”.  I sketched this while chatting with her.
I volunteer for the Pacific Bluegrass & Heritage Society, because I love to jam - and it makes me feel like a legitimate bluegrasser.  We had a flatpicking workshop one St. Patricks’ Day, and this is the drawing I did for the newsletter.
High Five anyone?  I did this one after a meeting at my work.  They were talkin’ money.  I say we need a more hip five dollar bill.
And speaking of work...
I did this drawing for a poster: World Animation Day comes to Victoria!  A free event where we watched some NFB films, some Victoria films, and had a very good time.
